Abstract: Biodiversity is an extraordinary wealth of ecosystems, species and genes. It is the foundation of life on the planet. Biodiversity is also our natural capital that offers us ecosystem services that support our economy. Worsening or losing it threatens the implementation of these services: losing species and habitats, as well as the welfare and employment that we make out of nature and thus threaten our own prosperity. This makes the loss of biodiversity the most serious global threat to the environment.
The impact of tourism on nature is one of the major and current problems of modern development, the solution of which is reflected in a number of international documents as well as in specific policies and actions of national governments.
